Bio

Native Texan Diane Frossard grew up in Dallas and has always had a passion for horses and art. Her father, an avid horseman, introduced her to horses at an early age and her childhood was spent competing in equestrian events. She initially worked as a geologist before turning to art full-time. She has studied with numerous artists including Dan Gerhartz, Michael Workman, Scott Burdick, Susan Lyon, Joseph Zbukic and Marc Hanson. She currently lives on a ranch in Tyler, Texas with her husband, two daughters and six horses. Her daughters and horses are recurring subjects in her paintings and many of her plein air landscapes are scenes from the ranch.

Artist Statement

I am inspired by the beauty in ordinary subjects that might otherwise go unnoticed – the pursuit of poetry rather than documentation.
