Doug started drawing at a very young age and quickly discovered he had inherited his mother’s artistic touch. Was recognized at school paper and started art lessons in oils and drawing. Perused a care as a chef and traveled through the United States. He didn’t pick up painting again until the 90’s when his wife signed him up for Art lessons with a local artist in East Texas. He fell in love again with the arts and started taking more training with workshops and is mostly self-taught.

Doug has is a member of the Tyler Art League and has served in many roles including league president. He is also a past member of other Art leagues in South Carolina and north Texas. He shows his work in Galleries in Tyler, Athens and on the internet. Doug has been honored to win many Best in shows in the Pallet of Roses art league and the Mineola art league as well. Has done many demos, workshops and enjoys anything to do with the development of the arts. “I have my wife to thank for this career and I thank God for this gift and her Love and encouragement.”
