The Beauty of Art and Medicine VI was installed in the TJC Rogers Nursing and Health Sciences Building in March, 2023 on the Vernon and Amy Faulconer Garden Level with an Opening Reception on Thursday evening, April 6. The art installation features seven local artists, with each artist contributing several pieces each, including Ron Mabry and Don Bristow who are both represented by Neita Fran Ward on this website.

This Opening Reception launched the 2023 TJC Festival of the Arts, with art related activities for all genres of art spanning the entire month of April.  The artists, their friends, many faculty and supporters of TJC attended the event, enjoying the remarks by Mitch Andrews, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and the  TJC Foundation, Dr. Juan Mejia, President of Tyler Junior College and Neita Fran Ward, Executive Producer of Art Connection of East Texas.

Special thanks were directed to Chris Leahy, Executive Director of the Tyler Museum of Art, Caleb Bell, Curator for the Tyler Museum of Art, Dr. Jim Richey, Dean of Humanities, Communications and Fine Arts Derrick White, Department Chair and Professor of Art, and Chance Dunlap, Professor of Art and Gallery Director.

The additional and very important contributor to the success of this new installation and the reception is Barbara Greenbauer, TJC Director of Major Giving for Institutional Advancement and the TJC Foundation.

The first Beauty of Art and Medicine was installed in 2017 by Neita Fran and numerous local artists have participated over the past six years.  Each year the Tyler Museum of Art professionally hangs the art for these installations.
