The Texas Administrator of the Year is awarded by the Texas Art Education Association to a Fine Arts Administrator who has significantly contributed to arts education at the state, local, and national level.  The awardee is recognized for advocating for quality arts education throughout Texas, their support of those who work in arts education, demonstrated evidence of state wide achievement in the arts, and have earned collegial respect within  their professional learning communities.  Annually, at the state TAEA conference, this award is presented to the honoree.  This is quite an honor that Sandra Newton appreciates greatly.  She is excited to bring this to her hometown, Tyler, TX, and Tyler ISD.
